Sister's Graduation.

After many trials and tribulations, my sister managed to graduate from her university. She had to juggle between work and study, handling online assignments as well as serving other passengers in the plane at irregular times. (for example, she could be on call for the next flight, and if one stewardess decided to take a leave, she had to fill the void).

Took great efforts in cleaning myself up. Spent an unusually long time of 1/2 hour in the toilet, ensuring that every single dirt has been washed down the drain. My sis can consider this her lucky day, since I rarely took such notice for my appearance, much to her frustration for being a tad sloppy (like most guys do generally).

My younger sis took an even longer time than me. By the time she emerged from the toilet, the floor was *ankle-deep filled with water* (exaggeration to prove my point). Just like a swan transformed....Since my father rejected the invitation in a fit of anger, only my mother, my little sis and I took a cab to Hilton hotel.

Came in 10 minutes late, in the middle of the Dean/Professor ?'s speech, due to the inservice provided by the ignorant taxi driver. Surprisingly, the ceremony was kept short. We certainly deserved better for the buffet provided after the ceremony. $45 per head isn't exactly cheap (plus the withdrawal from my father, which my poor sister had to foot).

Went to visit my grandmother's house. (my mother's side) Had to gingerly avoid the vomit filled lift (with a dead cockroach to match, must have died of eating the vomit) and take the other lift that smelled of ammonia (similiar to my rabbit's hutch).

Had dinner at a nearby coffeeshop, before going home.

M for Miracle

M1 has kindly given me a new treasure box on the signing up (or renewal) of a plan. I have yet to nibble on the gingerbread man (though my little sister had consumed my chocolate sweets). Intend to use that treasure box to store all my received mails, collectibles and presents (I do store them)

I just pray that my Maths S can get M. That's all I ask for. (despite being guilty of not doing Maths S tutorials, skipping the last few sessions to study for Prelims and so on.) 3 more days to uninhibited fun. It is futile worrying for Maths. I shall look forward to Friday.

...then afterwards, I shall complete my end of year resolutions that I have made ages past...

Snail

If you can guess what is it :)
Hint: It's in my room.

Biotech

While other JCs are happily learning about the birds and the bees with the help of redspot TYS, we are stuck with only 3 years worth of knowledge to lean on. Wow. Now we literally have to think out of the box next Monday, which precedes Maths S. Seriously I need a miracle to be able to do decently for Maths Paper 0 (one wonders why it is called 0), followed by the highly intensive Physics Paper 3 :S.

Just got back after studying-LAN-studying...(repeat cycle). Had to photocopy the biotech prelim answers from Eddie, as I do not know where I misplace them (sorry Vanessa...). I intend to spend the next 3 hrs online and studying.

"Have you thought of what you wanna do after the A levels?" one friend asked.
"Haven't thought of that. As long as I can finish this week properly..Why?"

Redeemed

Thankfully, my Maths Paper 2 has redeemed my maths overall. :). Chemistry was manageable. (after months of gruelling common tests, exams from the RJ chem department, it was a welcome change). Waiting eagerly for biotech, physics and chemistry to be completed; the real challenge is during next week, where one test precedes another. Just a few steps away to freedom.

Had been having weird dreams these few days. Dreamt that our class had a chem lesson in my old primary school (?!). Ruth was doing some chem MCQ. Dingjie somehow got lost while on his way to the toilet and we had to search for him in a labyrinth like maze. Strange. Had another one right after lunch, in which I dreamt that I was studying with the Desert Rose and her classmates :S??

The Rabbit's Hutch

More than 10m away, I can smell the stench of ammonia lingering in the air, as my little sis frantically tries to dispose of all the excretion my old rabbit has produced. The smell brings back unpleasant memories.

Had to clear the rabbit's litter. The new litter apparently could not get rid of the new smell efficiently. Slowly but surely, the stench has invaded the kitchen. At last it became unbearable. I had to dump the soiled waste into a plastic bag. (when I meant soiled, it is really soiled and smelly). For the first time, I felt nauseous and almost Fainted! If you cannot imagine how bad the stench was, try opening ten bottles of ammonia and put them under your nose. I was at such close proximity with the mess; breathing became torture, my eyes watered more than when I peeled onions. I probably broke my personal timing of the longest breath held when clearing the hutch. Even with two surgical masks, I dared not breathe in the highly toxic (according to bio) ammonia gas.

Wondered how the rabbit could endure such stench, since he is living together with his waste everyday. It was a Herculean task clearing the hutch. (literally, I vaguely remembered Hercules clearing thousands of stables in one of his legendary deeds). *-*

Back to Biopolis

Buona Vista should be renamed as Biona Vista, as a majority of the Singapore's future ever-growing biotech companies are establishing themselves there. Maybe in 10 years time, there will be a cure for AIDS, since it is predicted that it will be an epidemic unless gays and promiscuous men are stopped. (from proliferating their lifestyles). If you are gay and happen to visit my website, and are unhappy by above, you don't have to come here. Likewise for the other category. It is so easy to spread AIDS but hard to get rid of. Finding a cure for it is unlike solving for Maths/Physics/Chem/Bio S where there are standard answers to follow.

Have to take SATS II soon. Studying makes my brain sleepy. And I hope there is no more LAN until end of the month, which is highly possible since the next 2 weeks are going to be very packed.

Unplugged

Four days ago, after my little sis plugged out my modem, I could not use afterwards when I attempted to go online later. Called the technical service which failed to lift me from my misery. Day after day, I agonised as I sat for my chem, bio and maths paper. Felt like vomitting after Maths Paper 1, in which 3/4 of the school finished the paper before 2 hrs/found it easy/felt they needed a challenge. *cancel the ones which fit you.

Had a humbling experience. Spent too long trying to prove Mathematical Induction and finished the rest just on time(literally, when I have just anxiously finished the last part, the invigilator said stop), all the while feeling drained and groggy after differentiating so many @#$###@ terms. Guessed that affected my speed and my clarity of thought afterwards. :( . I want to practise on my Maths Statistics afterwards. The scenario above will never happen again. :(

Thought that playing at the same old place would provide a panacea to my nausea. It just provided a short anaesthesia. While the rest were playing with high spirits, I was thinking of the errors I had made. Perhaps I worry too much.

Had a dream about the Desert Rose and I eating a birthday cake together at a canteen, after some major papers. Remembered feeling embarrassed in that dream. Quite weird. Then I promptly woke up.

Silence

Had dinner by myself today. My mother had insisted in letting me try her tonic soup, which was a cornucopia of herbs and seeds. Then she proceeded to send my little sis to the hospital. The chicken tasted bland, the soup tasteless. It felt strange eating barley mixed with chestnut and gingko nuts, dumped along with chicken and pork in a concoction.

Remembered bits and pieces of my hospital stay last year. All I remember was that I had been jabbed more than 5 times, had violent convulsions and shared the same ward with two very old men. Not exactly a happy memory. If I recalled, it was during the pre-Sars period. Still, I must thank my OG mates for showing concern for me; they had specially gone all the way to Changi Hospital to visit me. I am very touched. Sheryl's homemade card together with my OG mates' well wishes lay hidden in my secret, sweet smelling (with the liberal use of perfumes) drawer, among other secrets. (to ensure that no free radicals will come in and degrade my precious stuffs)

Sadly, my A levels is round the corner. I am forbidden to visit my sister's ward during this crucial period. Recover soon man!

The World

Read today's Life section. If you happen to be among the rich and famous, you can buy an "island" in Dubai for between $18-61 million dollars. While Singaporeans (that is the filthy rich) can plant a flag in "France", there is no "Singapore" island to stake a claim, as it is simply too small.

For the first time in many days, I actually stayed at home for the whole day. I had been busy studying and taking occasional breaks at the LAN shop outside, which explains my hiatus from blogging. I wish I had a fraction of willpower that Thng has---to pass the "3 character tests"

My addiction to LAN was so bad at one point of time that we had to catch the last bus to home, otherwise we would be forced to either walk back to home the whole night or pay the midnight surcharge by the taxis:

12:10 a.m: Hungry Raymond as usual wanted to have a little bite on night snacks, so we went to this Malay store next to a road junction to have some stir-fried food.
12:25 a.m: The uncle was taking an unusually long time in cooking the snacks, that we became impatient. Raymond actually snatched the food from the uncle. Just then the last bus went past us.-.-'
12:27 a.m:Sprinted like mad dogs. We looked really lang bei. Misconception: Buses travel slowly.
The truth: They don't. Whatever remnants I had from my last athletic training was expended in trying to keep up with the acceleration of the bus.
12:29 a.m: Fortunately, Ginway had more stamina than me. He reached the front of the bus to stop it; I was panting with tongue sticking out at the back of the bus after running for some 800 m. People relaxing at 24-hour coffeeshops were probably wondering why four people are chasing after a bus.
12:32 a.m: Eddie Cai messaged us with concern. Quote: "You actually managed to catch the last bus?" or something similar to that effect. All the while, he was proceeding slowly to his Auntie's house nearby. Raymond tried to eat his snacks and almost vomitted.
12:35 a.m.: While seating comfortably in the bus, I recalled that we were very fortunate. If the uncle had took his time in frying, if there was no two cars that blocked the bus in front of the busstop and so on. There was actually nobody at the busstop. The bus stayed at the busstop for 30 seconds as it tried to maneuver past the two cars in the narrow street. Just 20 seconds would make a difference between 55 cents and $20. :S

Actually felt quite guilty for almost spending all my mother's money. Told myself never to LAN so late at night.
