Games, Gamez, and More Games

Indulged myself over a collection of games that I have downloaded. Makes time flow faster. Am currently in a middle of Final Fantasy I (yes, one!). Later shall proceed to playing Final Fantasy II, Sonic Advance and Megaman Zero. In addition to reading Chronicles of Narnia.

I wonder how is Ruth doing in the SEA games. Hopefully, she can clinch a gold back for Singapore. Wish her the best.

Have not touched Neopets in an ultra long time. If it was the real world, my four pets would have died a gazillion times over. The only trophy I had in the dusty cabinet of mine was that earned from punching Punchbag Bob (and punching my mouse as well). Hmm. One day I will return to my Shoryu and my sis's Cybunny. Maybe I should give them up for adoption.

Rest and Recreation

Were given a measly two days of R&R after slogging so much for the SAF. Now I can really appreciate what Mr Chan Ter Yue went through in his NS days. (pulley system in bathing). Unfortunately, I had no photo of it . I suppose no one would like to be seen carrying a camera in a public bath area.

There is a reason why Singapore ends up bottom in the Durex survey. Australia is so unlike Singapore where they censor everything until nothing is left.

On that fateful night (actually last night in Australia), my platoon mates were going out in hordes just to visit two clubs in the town. In fact, strip clubs.

It is not easy to turn down such offers when 1) they cost only $20+++++++++ (see what I mean?) 2)I am a

red-blooded male. 3)Being risk as being labelled a coward. (which I already am after this trip for missing the sinful night). Trust me, it ain't easy, especially the last one. =(.

Was disappointed when even my superiors also paid a visit, from what I heard. Thankfully, I can count on three sane friends who stayed with me to watch Return of the Kings. (yes very sad, out of the whole company, only 3 of us were sitting in the motel room watching movie). If not for them, things would be worse. I would be too ashamed to even come here.

The animal in me took some time to be tamed. It did not respond to logic or reason. I was staring at the ceiling (as usual) under my blanket. Felt torn then. Finally, I somehow convinced myself that it was degrading to women. The beast in me felt it was a good enough reason to release me from its torment. At last, the beast died when I thought of the Desert Rose...I realised that I still miss her, after like one year! Can't bear myself to go to such places and taint my eyes. Maybe that was also one of the more compelling reason why I never went.

Exhausted by the battle within, I feel asleep.....

Back from the Desert

After 3 weeks of having sand blown at my face, I am finally back home! Nothing overseas can be compared to the local food, climate (and even babes*...). :D Wow. Home sweet home.

Since NSmen were already warned by Mindef not to post sensitive issues online, I shall not do the same. After all, who knows? My dusty jungle hat photo might become a breach in security, in which future terrorists could find an interest.

Thank God for those big clouds that cover Singapore during the day and night. Coz the temperature range in Australia is insane. Hate early mornings the most. It can get so cold that you cannot even feel your feet when you wake up. Urgh. Unwillingly volunteered myself to do the midnight shifts just to place my feet on top of the generator. Often, the hard ground and the vehicles offered little protection for my feet against the bitter cold. Should have taken Ginway's advice more seriously

: "Knn @#$%, you better wear more clothes ah! @#$%^&* almost froze to death!!..my whole body was numb one morning...@#$#$ damn bloody cold" Those words rang through my head every morning outfield while I cursed silently at the wind.

Everything western is always larger than our Asian counterparts. Including flies. Those suckers with green eyes and golden bodies are a nuisance to every human beings. Not sure why they would rather follow us than the dustbin....Spent my lonely time entertaining myself by squashing those little critters. Managed to get beyond

GODLIKE streak, after which I gave up. Did I mention that those flies and mosquitoes are also much dumber than our lean, mean, NS-trained bugs? Just like "dumb blondes". Most like to land on the soles of my boots....

Bought a unique present in the form of a chocolate music box! Hopefully it doesn't melt when I give to another person. Currently it is lying at one corner of the fridge. At the end, I was given one week of off. Including the 2 weeks of leave that I applied, this would mean I would be home for 3 weeks! Yipee.

*Note: 3 weeks sure ain't easy. Especially torturous when I am surrounded by males-only. Testosterone levels have reached an all high at boiling point. -.-' Temptation was everywhere during R&R, in which I had an extremely hard (but thankfully victorious) struggle against the animal in me.-.-''' More on that in the next post.*

Spending Time

An iPod make a very good companion to the lonely soul. I discovered that during my driving days when the numbers keep dwindling. Although I am usually very adverse to new technology, I reluntantly admit it is an ultra good way to while away time. Surprisingly made it into my shopping list.

Recently began reading this manga series called Magister Negi Magi! (from the creator of Love Hina Ken Akamatsu). Also another effective way of burning time in a camp that has no activity after 1730.

To my relief, my health freak friend decided to push forward his daily regime of morning exercises to the evening. Which means no longer waking up at 5am to jog with him.

Almost wanted to crash med lecture on Wednesday with Dingjie to have a peek at the Desert Rose, but decided not to since I do not have the invisibility rune or cloak. Spent my time instead at Paradiz playing on LAN with Dingjie and his happy friends. (as well as skipping my BMT section dinner)

Nooooooo. I am going to join Ginway in Australia soon. He should be coming back in a few days time. I expect his pent-up frustration to be released in the creative form of colourful stories. Am sure Eddie Cai and Zhengxian will not mind hearing.

Unlike Taiwan where they have legendary beauties, I think the most I am going to see are kangaroos and wallabies. =(. Meanwhile, when I am away enjoying the sun and sand (sense the sarcasm), secondary and JC students should be mugging feverishly. Together with those at uni as well. Sigh.

NS seems to be the place where time stops for 2 years. At least that is what I believe it to be. An illusion.
