Hand Ache

Just got back from bowling. My thumb nail and my right hand are now aching from strenuous lobbing and bouncing of the bowling ball, which is apparently too huge for me.

Scored an embarrassing score of a total less than 200. Its rarity is akin to having
TRIPLE KILL!!!, 3 times.

Finally managed to put the MLM episode to a close, something which should have been exorcised a long time ago.

Time to clear my cabinet of all the junk.

Countdown

Time gets exponentially slower as your ORD approaches. Even DoTA at the signal store does not help much nowadays. (DoTA=wargaming ; >2 laptops connected by a switch=networking ; wireless LAN..well is just testing out our 3G laptops capabilities. )

Went to Serangoon area last week. It is amazing to see so many Indians on a street. Makes you wonder where have they been all this while. Must be preparing to celebrate Deepavali. Anyway, my friend's car crawled to a snail pace. Traffic lights were useless. People just crossed the roads whenever they feel like it. One wonders why there is no major accidents in the area...

Battalion anniversary. Haven't touched a bowling ball for a very long time. The battalion cohesion happened not too long ago, which makes the anniversary kind of redundant. But as long as there is one less working day, no one is gonna complain.

After many nights of singing/warbling, I just realised that I love Sun Yan Zi............................... 's voice. I opened my eyes and ears to many new songs. Will come in useful when selecting songs at Kbox. :)

The Rosetta Stone

Since SAF is kind enough to subsidise online modules for us, I happily used all their credits to enrol myself onto a German module. Might as well make use of SAF while stocks last. Looks like I have to buy a mike soon.

Went to watch Miami Vice with Eddie, Alvin and Ginway. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed with the jerky cameras and loose plotlines. Half the time I was wondering wtf is going on. On the other hand, I also do not wish to watch The Banquet, which is a Chinese version of Phantom of the Opera.

Collected my laptop from servicing en route to Orchard. Should have left it at home, but I was rushing for time, so no choice had to lug that piece all around.

4 days of uninterrupted leave is so...nice. -.-'' I foresee more of these breaks in the very near future. :D Meanwhile, I have to deal with the very wayang CO parade. Other than that, I should be cruising through till November.

The Host

Recently went to Suntec to waste our time. Eddie suggested watching the Host, some Korean monster show, which Ginway unwittingly bought for all of us.

Initially thought that it was another screwed-up show. Surprisingly, it was not as bad as it looked. The focus, really, was not on the monster tadpole (?! -.-''') but on how society respond to crises in general.

My unit happily went for a trip to Newater plant at Bedok. Reminds me of excursion, like those kiddy tours to the Zoo during primary school. The only thing lacking is an excursion form. (something which SAF renames as indemnity form)

Otherwise, my normal week passes very slowly. Dingjie is probably clearing his off and leave, like Ginway. Damn.

Chemical Defense Training

Occured 2 weeks ago actually. Had a 2 day crash course in Selalang camp, both which were tiring. In all, the suit made us look like green Eskimos wearing a Darth Vader mask. Even the breathing was similar to the Dark Lord. "Whoooo, whoooo. Luke I am your Fatther!!" as many exhorted to each other.

Oh yes. In order to be more than 100% safe, we were taught how to use decon powder (decontamination powder) liberally like putting on baby powder. Decon . The word of the day. Can decon everything from socks and bottles to straws.

At the final day, we were subjected to tear gas, in which the sergeants gleefully exclaim that they can "make grown men cry" -.-''''. Made us do stupid things like jumping up and down (which made us sweat much more). The finale was when they made us take off the mask (?!) in a room filled with tear gas and we had to say our NRIC number and name. (and our prayers too) :S

At first I felt nothing. But as I took my first few steps towards freedom, I began to experience irritation. Arrrgghh..its like someone suddenly pour wasabe in my eyes!

And so sadly, they accomplish their mission in making us cry. If Singapore is ever subjected to chemical warfare, I think I will dig a deep hole... It is ULTRA cumbersome to wear that piece of sXXt. Even peeing is atrociously troublesome. We had to decon even our most sacred area. Like wth. I really pity those soldiers that have to do SOC in MOPP 4 ( the name of our suit). Can really literally die.

That said, a picture paints a thousand words. So here goes nothing.
