Meet The Parents

Met Thng at Heeren last Friday, after making my way through hordes of revellers and breathing in the disgusting odour of cigarette smoke. Since it was the last Friday of the month, everyone else decided to be a late night owl and join in the happy atmosphere. Personally, I do not fancy the crowd because of the polluted air.

Since Eddie missed his carpark, the both of us made our way to look at some cards. It only came at 3 prices: $1, $5 and $6. Naturally, being economically wise, Zx decided not to spend on anything.

Finally Eddie came into the scene. Wandered around and breathed in more damn cigarette smoke as we made our way to Starbucks. Reclined ourselves comfortably and chattered the night and morning away. Made a mistake in ordering the Banana Coconut drink, which I ordered with Alvin some time back. Wanted to try the banana chocolate one instead.

Left at 2am. Which we saw a whole division of midnight taxis prowling the streets. Went to Eddie's house for a stayover.

Brought along the rest of my barang barang (junk) as I had to meet the parents tomorrow. Urgh. Slept at 330 am and woke up at 7am, which left me in a foul mood on Saturday.

Kept my meeting between each parent (s) short and sweet. Together with Glenn Vetuz, we finally ended at around 1330hr. By then, I am almost drained and slept like a log when I reached home.

The Sights and Sounds

It was a hot afternoon, as usual. Almost horlanded (meaning=wrong direction). Managed to find my way to the Clementi Bus Interchange to take Bus 96.

Finally, I arrived at my destination. I could only express my amusement as I see how packed the sports hall was. Incessant chatting between excited girls and army trash by the botak heads do create some noise in the crowded place. Undeterred, I made my way to the front to look at where I was seated at.

Ahh. I wonder what the scene was like two years ago. The youthful energy and exuberance have revitalised me somehow. The only familiar faces that I saw were Samuel and Eugene Luah. It was comforting to see that among the throng of unknowns, I could at least recognise a few.

It is very nice to see the myriad of colours in this place. The air has never smelt so fresh. :D. Returned home a happy man despite the dreary weather (when it has started to rain).

BANKAI!!! To Lift the Limits.

I am thankful that I have friends to depend on for practising my fluency and coherence. I do not want to let them down. For the first time in months, even Flyff is brushed aside for more important stuffs in life.

Had a nice meal of Cafe Cartel and a banana latte. Need to recce my way to NUS tomorrow. Nothing Further. Out.

Oasis in the Desert

The week seems long to me. Often, I would either be trudging alone or together with another friend of mine in the long stretch of road ahead. The relentless sun would scorch us as we made our way to the train station. My spectacles would turn a shade darker. The air feels stifled as we breathe in exhaust emissions from the busy traffic at the junction.

It was during these treks along the deserted paths that I met up with two ex-classmates. Due to internet security, I will not reveal their names on this public domain. But I must express my feelings of joy when I met up with them. It has been months and for one, even years, since I last saw them. Boy, am I glad that they are well.

It could not have been mere coincidences (even though some might attribute to that) that my overstay in the compound (doing admin work, waiting for ppl, etc) has led to these chance meetings.

Time to continue my journey after a brief respite.

...and I still remember the feelings of lonliness, as I took the bus 975 to my camp every Sunday night. With a civilian bag on my left shoulder, wearing the odd combination of polo-tee, SAF shoes, and jeans, I would board the bus. It would be silence, as I would look at the other sad faces staring out into space as the bus would take a slow journey past cemeteries and deserted roads...

A Very Long Day!

Almost KO'ed today. Slept at 2am the previous night...or rather the morning itself. Almost lost to the Z monster. They say that the pen is mightier than the sword. Yea. Even my red pen was futile against the onslaught of the Z monster. Hence, the only safe refuge is the nearby toilet. I put down the toilet seat cover and literally stone there for 15 min. That is, until a construction worker intruded the still air and calm when he entered my "haven".

Dragged on until 4pm, which was unusual in that 5 of us were still in the vicinity. Since the walls have ears and the hills have eyes (a very bad pun, I know), we left for a very late lunch (notice how everything is late?) at Delifrance. Had the bleeding chocolate again, though I must say that the virgin try on the hot chocolate was still the best.

It was a rare day today, as only one email arrived on my official inbox, instead of the usual deluge of information.

Training with Vizards

Just as Ichigo seeks to contain his hollow spirit, I must also seek help from all possible avenues. Ichigo had to look for the group of renegades known as the Vizards, who obtain hollow powers in their official occupation and hence branded as heretics.

And thus, the gruelling training begins. Instead of sparring with zanpakutous and hollow powers, I seek the answers for my research and Lady Wisdom herself to guide my tongue and heart. Of course, there is nothing good on being preoccupied on self.

Multi-tasking is the order of the day. Midnight is fast approaching.

Naruto Shippuden!

The new story arc of Naruto the manga. After many lame filler episodes on Naruto, we finally get a treat on a more mature Naruto. The new storyline focuses on the events that transpire when an older Naruto returns to his village 3 years later.

And of course, Naruto's undying wish is to be a Hokage one day. Ahh, 3 years. Time to do some catching up.

For now, it is time to rest the mind and body after a long day.

The Chrysanthemum Palace

Just had one lesson today, in which one was taken by International Friendship Day. Yeah. The day in which everyone stops fighting with his mudder enemy/ies, make peace+love for one day, then continue fighting the next day.

It was Ernie's last day, as usual, at the hallowed old place. Took photos, unwittingly, like a cam whore. I might salvage a few that should be able to be able to see the daylight and post it here on a later date.

What a dreary way to end the day. Dark clouds were forming. Almost left the school when I was summoned to bring a group of students to Raffles Hotel, together with my fellow RTs, to celebrate its 120th year anniversary.

It was a 2nd time I went there. The last time I went back there, it was 6 years ago to attend some play at the Jubilee hall. All I remember was that I rushed to the opposite building, ate Macs, and rushed back to watch the matinee.

The place was resplendent. An opulent hotel in the heart of the city. Pandering to every taste and pampering their guests, or rather, residents to the very max. There is no hotel room in Raffles Hotel. Only suites. It even had a museum (?!) to boot to celebrate its rich and vibrant history. Had a tour around the premise together with a group of Sec 3 RGS students.

Will be coming back in one year's time...my sister is hosting her wedding there. Looking forward to wearing my blazer :D. One day, I will give my loved one a treat at a suite in Raffles Hotel...

Of course, the title of the song is not my heading. Enjoy the song. It was supposed to be played during the International Friendship Day Concert, but it didn't make the cut.

Poetic Justice

Just ended a stint of staying back late 3 days in a row, often against my true desire. Expended most of my "yang" energy trying to contain the energy of more energetic classes bumbling around my labs. Much to my chagrin, there will always be some clowns breaking test tubes, boiling Benedict's reagent, playing the lighter like it is their own gun etc.

I guess before I leave, I will just leave a short note/card/whatever of thanks on the few teachers that I can count with my one hand. My bubbly colleague, unfortunately has gone on maternity leave. Now I am literally on an island of my own, with only the cold walls of my cubicle as my comfort.

While meting out poetic justice on the lab papers, I would occasionally hear a sweet voice over the Great Wall of Tb. It would interrupt my furious slicing of my red ink on paper for a moment. Music to my ears. Ah such loveliness. Guess only Yin energy is capable of containing my Yang energy.

As you can see, I am not talking much sense now. Enough of Surface-to-Air Missiles. (anti-air defenses). I have acquired a new coordinate on my infra red radar. "It's time for action---commanders' forum"---a statement which I always find.....amusing.

Sometimes, it's good to be a puppy for a few days. Yeah. A few days. I would not expect to remain one for 2 years :S No more cats please. (for the moment)

A New Beginning

For now, I am a contented man. Hoping for a smooth sailing 7 weeks ahead of me. Somehow, my timer is inaccurate; it should depict a fewer number of days than shown.

It ain't easy being a Commander. At times, I was furiously thinking of plans and counterplans to wipe out my enemies, deploying a whole range of assets available, from nuclear weapons, air force, tanks and even infantry divisions. To add to my conundrum, I have to fend off not only terrorist attacks but also alien invasions across the globe, from Croatia to Australia. It was truly a global war.

Now that the ashes have settled, its time to jack in back to the real world.

And he cried out in a loud voice, "Arise Lazarus". And Lazarus did----Kane on his return.

3 days holiday

Nice to have a 3 day break once in a while. It will also be similar next week.

I am treading on dangerous territory from now on. On a sidenote, I was frustrated on my inability to access my online lessons.

Shall maintain my mane for one week before going for a cut. I was just notified that my allowance of $300 has been depleted. Managed to last me for 2 months, even though I bought the C&C 3 game.

Did a minor tweaking of my template. Alone I stand in this digital world.

Disappointed

Sweat rolling down his forehead, a man trudged his way on a location far far away under the relentless sun. His shirt was stained with sweat by the time he reached my target. Suddenly, the unexpected happened. After the scorching sun, the heavens decided to give a downpour.

Time ticked by for a few hours while waiting for the rain to subside. He waited patiently, despite the cold winds, his heart is still burning with infinite passion and pride. The lone man was standing amid the crowds, wandering in search of his usual clique, who have left in pursuit of greater goals. He was slightly saddened by a lack of company. "But it's ok. This is my personal decision to stay behind. Not good to renege on a promise I made on Term 1 Week 1," as he mused to himself.

And so, after the sprints, he readied himself to change as the rest of the other senior competitors made their way down. 5 mins, tell the rest I will join them in 5 min, as he told his female colleague cum team mate and rushed to change from his shirt, wet from rushing to the stadium, to his physical gear.

Adrenaline was pumping to his blood. "Run for honour and glory", as a casual remark and an encouragement from his friends. "This is going to be a good day, "he told himself despite stepping on the wet toilet floor to change up.

He rushed. And rush he did. As they were starting to fall in to their positions, he was about to confidently stroll in to his fourth position. "Strange, why is it that all the slots are taken up?", he wondered aloud. Hope against hope, he went to ask the person-in-charge. "What's going on?"

"Oh, apparently you have been replaced." Realising the predicament and embarrassment (to the person only), he could only smile meekly as the man's hopes was dashed to the ground in an instant.

His head hanging low, he could only return back to the steps to retrieve his miscellaneous items like a dog returning to his kennel. Shame burning in him, which only he could feel. He went and seek answers from the mistress. She was also helpless, as the man's teammates had done a last minute swap without her knowledge. "Then I gotta make my move. See you." She could only reply a thanks for your time and effort. Miscomms at best, callousness at worst.

He left the stadium. Quietly as he entered, silently as he left. He trodded all the way back to school to return the shoes that he never used and returned home, with a heart that has a space filled up with only disappointment.

Enough is enough, he told himself. This is the last straw that broke the camel's back. I will be mercenary from now on, he vowed to himself as he took a cab back home in the vain pursuit of lost time.

Dusty Relics

I never had an afternoon nap in a very long time. Usually, I would tell myself in the morning that I will snooze after a long day, but somehow it never materialise. Managed to catch a refreshing nap on a hot day.

Found my old rusty spike shoes. It has been lying dormant in my shoe cabinet for 3 years. Was wondering whether I should use it.

Watched Mr Bean's Holiday 2 days ago. Some parts of the movie is hilarious, while other parts bore the socks out of me. It is only 1 1/2 hours long. Guess it is already a stretch trying to make a comedy so long.

It is a good friday this week. And so is the next.
