Reminiscence

Was musing to myself as I was going up the escalator, when I met Nikhil. Instead of rushing off to Tampines MRT station to wait for the as usual late Raymond, I stayed and chatted with him. The meeting of old friends never fails to warm the heart; memories of times in our sec school came flooding back...

Still remembered suffering military style hell in orientation camp. Till now, my shoes are permanently stained brown. Refused to shed a tear, but still, an angry tear defiantly rolled down my cheek.

Another time: We were happily playing soccer in our classroom, when Melvin accidentally kicked the ball out of the window. Down it came from the 4th storey; caught by the security guard and was punished by standing outside the staffroom. We were told to count the number of teachers that strolled past. In the end we gave up and decided to coordinate a number (courtesy of Eng Seng).

Seemed that it was a carefree and happy period. Still recalled the fervent LAN sessions we had in one of the abandoned classrooms, where we battled it out in Duke Nukem. Junda and I enjoyed blasting each other in oblivion with RPGs and shotguns. Damien introduced us to the violent world of Halflife, in which he found creative ways to use a crowbar.

Computer lessons=net-surfing. Had a tinge of regret of not properly learning network.

The moment we stepped into Morrison, the champion house had become last for the next consecutive years. Suddenly, blue had never looked so forlorn. It only became better when we were sec 4, like the house had given out a sigh of relief at our departure. How nice.

Cross-country=sux. Nikhil and Jasmeet would somehow end up top 50s. While I would be strolling around MacRitchie with Junda and Damien.

Once, Ginway pissed off the teacher, and the teacher was also not happy with him. Bad blood was developed between them. Hated Mondays, in which we had to wear green snakes around our necks. Felt constricted. And the memories live on.......

Thankfully, Nikhil is now in Medicine. Apparently, he is having some hockey chalet opposite my house. Guys are not exactly adept in expressing "I love yous" or all those nice words like girls are. Gave each other a pat in the backs before departing our ways.

And I continued to muse silently on the train.
