HSBC Treetop Walk II

This time, I went with the same bunch of friends instead of having army people beside me. Instead of starting from Venus Drive, we walked a further distance around one side of MacRitchie reservoir before finally reaching the 250m long suspension bridge.

We took a break at one of the six storey tower(actually, there was only one) to have a picnic. Similar to the structure at Pulau Ubin, we made our way up the spiral staircase, took a few photographs at the top, before settling down at the 5th storey. (by then it was noon). Sat in a circle and began distributing biscuits, potato salad and chips. After having adequate rest, we continued on the trail along MacRitchie.

Along the trail, we entered into a country club next to MacRitchie. Took a few more photos of ourselves and the terrapins in the pond. Though they appear deceptively slow, once you start feeding them with tapioca chips, every terrapin will start swimming towards you. We must have emptied around 1/2 bag of chips, as it was fierce competition between the biting terrapins and the fishes.

Finally completed the 11km++ trail (which was one full round around MacRitchie); it was longer than the miserable trail I had in the army. With legs slightly aching, we made our way past some familiar sights, like the cross country starting point, the carpark, etc. Decided to go to Far East Plaza after sufficient rest.

Had lunch at the chicken rice stall; dessert at some new eatery (Hong Kong Desserts) before proceeding home, as I had no interest in shopping. On hindsight, it might have been better if I had accompanied them, since it began to rain heavily the moment I stepped outside. Had to use my bag as a temporary umbrella; a bit irritated that of all times it must rain now. Thankfully, by the time I had reached Pasir Ris the rain had subsided.
